Re: 1/4 finals
4 south americans, 3 europeans and 1 african.
No surprise since Uruguay and Paraguay came from France's and Italy's groups. XD
I'm very happy for Ghana, they play really well (and without Essien).

Re: 1/4 finals
Not only that, it was definatly deserved, and before that i can't remember who it was, should have got the 2'nd yellow card, and it should be penalty.
But to be honest Netherlands played a lot better, but at the finish wtf were they doing, always passing it back ?!
They had so many 200% chances but failed 500%

Bastos, but it wasn't penalty.

Well in the first half Brazil could score 2/3 goals, but they did only 1.
In the second half anything seemd easy for brazilians but suddenly Holland found that lucky goal.
At that point Brazil lost his head, his players got scared and scared minute after minute, and that's not good for a team that strong. It's a sign of weakness. That's the reason why Holland's win was deserved.

WOOT! The match was really interesting. Very entertaining match. I'm very happy Netherlands won. They could have scored like 2-3 more goals but at least they won .

Re: 1/4 finals
The referee and his team made a bad job (8. minute, the offside was delayed)
Van Persie got almost injured cuz of the delayed offside and it's a mystery for me why Dunga was dancing in the coaching-zone. His team played often very unfair and it's a wonder that Robben isn't injured.
Somehow it was an interesting match but somehow it was also disappointing.
Anyway, Netherlands is my team so I'm happy as hell ^^

Re: 1/4 finals
OH MY GOD! Ghana had such a chance with the penalty, I ROFLED when he hit it to the upper bar thingy. I wouldn't dare to go back to Ghana if I was him (if they lose the penalty series that is).
EDIT: And Uruguay won. I was actually rooting for Ghana just because the freaking dude blocked the ball with his HANDS! It would have been a goal but noooo. Ghana deserved it imo. Little sad but I can't say they were very good during the penalty shootout or what ever you call it.

I wanted them to win. No idea how they played, bc I had trainin until the extra time started. But hell, till the quarter finals as African team, that's cool enough ;>

Same here.
Anyway @ Pose: Gyan is a super player (one of the best in this WC), the failed penalty doesntt really change this, imo. And he can go back to Ghana and not being skinned for that. xD
It's true that if he scored they would be in semifinal, but i also consider what happened before the missed penalty: Appiah should have scored there instead of shooting exactly towards Suarez, he had all the 7 meters door wide open there. The first misser has been Appiah, for sure. Anyway QQ really... Gyan's tears have been really touching after the match.
Anyway great match overall. Games with african teams have been the funniest games so far, imo.
If u ask me, the best match i've seen is still the opening match Mexico-South Africa, followed by last night's.

Re: 1/4 finals
Really? For me the best game was Germany - England, fresh german team owned english wall (not in this game lol) so hard. And in the end of 1st part the english team was also attacking, for me it was the best game so far. Slovakia - Italy was also a good game.
About yesterday, Suarez ftw. They should build him a statue, great tactic and I would do the same. Better red card and the chance of failing penalty than losing in 1/4 finals.

really? for me the japanese referee made one of the best jobs in this WC, yes the offside was really delayed but anyway he had success watching it( anyway i think he did late cause it was the 4th referee the one who said him that it was offside), the rest of his job was 100% perfect ,very hard when dirty players like some brazilians are always protesting all his decisions and falling to the floor in each contact (fuck u alves, melo, robinho, dunga, etc )
Today Spain´s turn, also germany´s, good luck vs the argentina team, i am more scared of germany than argentina in a possible round if spain wins

I'm aware of that and of course I didn't mean seriously that HE SHOULD BE AFRAID but you know there's a lot of crazy people out there. I mean people have commited suicides after their team lost and missing a penalty at such an important moment. I just think that he himself is the most dissapointed out of all the people cheering for the team.
I'm just sayin' .

Re: 1/4 finals
Argentina have more posession, Germany to concede is inevitable.
Edit: Maybe not but Germany plays really gay football.
Last goal was pure class no doubt about it.

Re: 1/4 finals
Phew, gratz Germany, you made your job perfectly and bashed Argentina...poor performance by Maradona btw.
Now it is our turn against Paraguay. It promises to be a ultra-def team. If Spain pass today I dare to say that we will own Germany and WC (unless they score first ).

Yeah i got your point.
Consider that after Usa WC in 1994 a player from Colombia (one Escobar) has been MURDERED once he got back to his country because he failed a penalty (or something like that).
But this case is different, without Gyan Ghana would have never played a quarterfinal, and i repeat the worse mistake has been made by Appiah (im sure he kicked with eyes closed).
AtomSmasher wrote:poor performance by Maradona btw.
Just another trainer - like italian Marcello Lippi - who let play his "pupils" (DemicheLOLis, Burdisso, Higuain, etc.) and not the fitter players.

Yeah, dont make the bullshit of going out now please, i wanna enjoy a Spain-Germany semifinal! ^^
About who score first i agree with u, and not cause Germany would build a wall before his goalkeeper if score for first, i think spanish players would tend to go down with morale more than germans, in case of being 0-1.
Anyway Muller won't play semifinal cause of disqualification.
